This means a lot. Out of the millions of blogs and websites out there, you're here. I won't take that lightly. I promise to make the most of your time. That's what I want, after all… For you to make the most of this one delicate life you have - here are the 3 ways I hope to inspire you to do just that.
I used to feel guilty for being drawn to pretty things. I thought it was just the ugly of materialism infested in me when I wanted to buy something to make a home more lovely, when I scoured Pinterest looking for fashion ideas, or when I spent time and money making my appearance more becoming. I shouldn't be so infatuated with the temporary - right?
With new eyes, I now believe that I naturally navigate towards the beautiful because God is beauty. He designs. He makes. Both hidden and exposed, the art we see here in this world was meant to point us towards a Designer who makes everything from nothing.
So this website is meant to be beautiful. Through pages I hope you find alluring, it is all designed to echo Beauty from its perfect and original source.
I spent too long feeling like I was on the outside looking into life. That's not what I want for you. This blog is not a platform for you to compare your life to mine and wonder what you're lacking. It is not to give you another reason to stay fixed on a screen while life doesn't wait for you to come live it; I believe we have enough distractions and opportunities for comparison, don't you?
This is a hiding place meant to refresh you with something beautiful and then compel you to go live it. I want you to see more of Jesus in these stories, in these words, in each click of your mouse or finger tap upon your phone screen. Don't leave without knowing more of Him. And when you know more of Him, go experience Him more for yourself. Be intentional about that. Write down what you learned and then how you're going to live it. But by all means, live it.
Comparison isn't welcome here. You are. You and your one beautiful life that is too valuable to be spent filled with things that don't ultimately matter. I pray you are compelled to make the most of your life - to run in your lane with all the grace and purpose you are meant to carry.
I don't want this place to be about me. If that's what I've achieved here, how meaningless. I don’t believe the Internet needed 1 more blog among the millions we already have promoting a self-made kingdom.
Instead, I'm telling you a story - lots of them, really, but ultimately they all fit together like this one big quintessence of life. I use my adventures, my pictures, my cutouts of life, my love for writing - all to point you to an Author who is never absent from the typewriter (I like to believe God has one of those). When we tell stories, we tell of a faithful God who kept us and protected us and gave us grace when we never should have received it. When we hide our chapters, we shield the world from seeing something that is real and magic all at the same time. There are people who have something to share, but they don’t always have a platform like this to tell it. I'm here for that. I am here to tell my own God-given stories and those of others I know - because they all tell about the One who's writing them.
God is crafting the stories; I only capture them.
